April 18, 2012

I noticed a really big difference at my solo spot this time! There was so much more growth on the trees and bushes, it almost seemed like a new place! The sun was out, so even though it was a bit chilly I didn't really mind staying for twenty minutes. I stopped in the afternoon this time, around 2:00pm. There were many birds chirping, and I saw a few geese in the area. The stream was flowing strongly and the water level was back up. It just seemed like a much brighter day at the solo spot today. I saw the flowers again, and while there wasn't as many as what I saw at first, they were still getting bigger.

Once I again I stopped at my solo spot on my way into work. This time it was around 11:30am. I stayed for about twenty minutes. I could really notice more growth on the trees and bushes. The water level seemed to decrease from my last visit, as I could see a water line that the stream wasn't reaching. It was a bit warmer this time than last. I heard birds chirping and saw a squirrel. The grass was a little thicker this time also.

The second time I went to my solo spot was on my way back from work. This time I stayed close to fifteen minutes as it was a bit more cold this time. I didn't really notice any major changes. There were some more leaves on the trees, and the flowers that I noticed previously looked as if they were getting bigger. The current of the water was a bit stronger this time, I could really notice it flowing. The water level also looked to be higher. I still heard birds chirping, and I came across some bugs while I was walking around the area.

I decided to do my solo spot in an area of Heins drive. The first time I went to visit my solo spot was at 1:30pm, right before I had to head into work. It was a little bit chilly, but not unbearable. I was really happy to see leaves on some of the trees. I'm not really a big fan of winter, so any sign of spring is welcome to me. There was a decent amount of grass on the ground also. I even saw a few flowers starting to push their way up. The water was pretty calm, and the level looked a little low. I could see the line of where the water had come up previously. I did hear some birds chirping, but I didn't really see any other animals. I stayed for about 20 minutes.
